Nanopore

Nanopore

Overview

A state-of-the-art Microneedling system for Scalp. Scalp Microneedling has long been a part of the therapeutic armamentarium for hair loss.

From manual derma stamps and dermarollers to novel automated devices, the technique has been immensely innovated in the last decade. As Microneedling functions for the treatment of scars and skin rejuvenation by creating micropunctures in the skin, a similar mechanism helps in treating certain hair loss conditions like male and female pattern baldness, alopecia areata, and chronic telogen effluvium. The idea is to give a controlled mechanical injury to the scalp, wherein the scalp tries to heal itself naturally, thereby increasing the blood supply and nutritional support to the hair. The needles do not create a wound in a real sense, but rather hair cells are fooled into believing that the injury has occurred, which then tries to regenerate the dormant follicles. The micro-injuries also enhance the delivery of various drugs directly into the deeper layers of skin.

At Sparsh Skin Clinic, we are using Nanopore by Mediderma, state-of-the-art technology in automated microneedling. Equipped with German tooling quality, it is a system of painless electric microneedling which is combined with powerful active ingredients and growth factors to induce and regenerate dormant hair follicles. This ergonomic device makes use of disposable needle cartridges and guides to adjust the depth of needles in a single session itself.

Scalp microneedling is a simple lunch-time procedure, lasting approximately 20 minutes. An ideal candidate is the one who is compliant with his/her medical treatment. It must be noted that this procedure is always encouraged after initiating the appropriate medical therapy, without which its benefit might not be long-lasting.

The procedure is well-tolerated by the patients and there are usually no post-treatment sequelae except slight redness and soreness on the scalp lasting for 2–3 days. There is no downtime and the patient can resume daily work just after their visit. Treatments are performed at 2-4 weeks intervals and 6-8 sittings are needed to achieve the desired effect on the hair.
